Jennifer Gonsalves: Instructor
I have been sewing professionally for nearly 40 years. I've also studied millinery, jewelry-making, collage, fabric-surface design, pattern drafting, and fashion design.
For ten years I have worked as a costume designer for the venerable Palo Alto Children's Theater, for Joe Goode Performance Group in San Francisco, and for various dance and theater companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I also have a background in education and hold a California teaching credential in German, Social Studies, and English.
I am so excited to combine these two passions and offer sewing, fashion, and crafting classes in Santa Cruz and Palo Alto.
Finneas Mayer: Teaching Assistant
I am Jenny's son, and I have a background in prop making, carpentry, craftwork, sculpture, ceramics, and music. Since I was young I have had a strong passion for physical creativity and dimensional art projects. I have worked with and for my mother on various jobs, and we are excited to guide others on their own paths of creativity.
At Threadcraft Studios we know that hands-on craft work can nourish and invigorate the mind in ways that our world of traffic, desks, and screens fail to do. We are here to facilitate and guide you through the exploration of the many incredible things you are capable of. When creations can flow freely from the mind through the hands, we find ourselves in a world apart.
